27th July. Tour of the Llanymynech Heritage area. A tour of the site was lead by Martin Young and Tony Beardsell of the Heritage Centre.

22nd June. Steve Derrick gave us a talk on the origins of goats, through to selecting the right breed - why do you want a goat, with lots of facts and comparisons on the way.

28th October  Derek Jones gon the history of the apple describing its journey from the east to europe

23rd September Ashley Wilson from AW Renewables will be giving a talk on renewable energy systems including solar Power and Heat, Heat pumps and biomass boilers. This meeting was cancelled and will be rescheduled in the new year.

26th August  No meeting.

22nd July  Treflach Farm visit. Treflach Farm has been a family farm for over 100 years and is now run by Ian Steele who aims to prove that small scale agriculture can indeed be environmentally aware, promote biodiversity and remain viable.  It is a community centred farm, running courses and volunteering opportunities. they also produce a range of pies from their bakery.

24th June   Matt Jones gave a talk on the Meres and Mosses project of the Shropshire Wildlife Trust showing how we can conserve and restore farm habitats.  www.themeresandmosses.co.uk 

27th May Derek Jones gave a talk on garden pests and how best to avoid them eating our produce.

22nd April Anne Hendrie gave a talk on “Making and using compost and leaf mould” . Anne has been a Shropshire Master Composter for over 5 years. She is a keen gardener with a large garden where she puts her home made compost and leaf mould to good use on her vegetable and flower beds.

26th March  A talk by Pat Stebbings from The Pedigree Welsh Pig Society. The presentation was about the societies objective which is to obtain  sustainability for the breed, it touched on the history, the near extinction and what is now happening to promote it's continuation.   http://www.pedigreewelsh.com/

26th February  Starting out with bees. A talk by members who have started keeping bees with first hand knowledge of what you need and pitfalls to avoid.

22nd January  Beth Heath, Chief Executive-Shrewsbury Food Festival, on events from the producer/exhibiters perspective. Also focusing on the problems faced by the amateur exhibitor at shows.

11th December. Christmas meal and social. A cracking evening, many thanks to Maureen at The Royal Oak, Treflach.

27th November. The November 27th meeting - Jenny Naylor from the Garth Hillside Community Garden. Jenny gave an illustrated talk on how they created a garden on a two acre gorse covered plot on a Welsh Mountainside which now produces fruit and vegetables for the community using permaculture principles. 23rd October. A talk by Sheila Dooley on the use of Bees wax, S a demonstration on candle making using beeswax and the opportunity of making your own.
